The neighbors . . .

Like the mantra “location, location, location” the neighborhood matter too.  When you’re deciding to buy a new home the feel of the immediate area is influenced by the neighbors.  I love to know who is nearby and to see folks I recognize and give them a wave when we cross paths.  Socializing with neighborhood friends is right up at the top of my list of great ways to fit in and be part of the community.  So when you go to buy a home, if you have friends nearby who love the area as well, it is easy to see yourself moving in, doing activities together be they going for a run, or grabbing a cup of Joe on a rainy morning.  Who is around us, from the friendly grocer to the neighbor sweeping up leaves creates a visual landscape that we become familiar with and come to enjoy as the weeks become years.  If you’re in love with a certain neighborhood, and you just feel like you were meant to live there, I’d recommend waiting for the right home in that area to come up on the market.  It has always been my feeling that if you’re in the right place you get a gut instinct and there is nothing like that familiar vibe you get when you know “you’re home.”
