‘Kitchens’ the secret to making your home sell

One thing that sellers often ask me as we talk “market ready” is what can they can do to jazz up their kitchen to get their home ready to sell.  Paint goes a super long way in creating a new image in a kitchen or elsewhere.  This cutie near Green Lake is fresh & crisp with painted cabinets and a little accent color around the sink, nothing like the 1950’s kitchen it started out as, in another life. Painting out the cabinets semi-gloss white really brightened the look, and the checkerboard floor seen here, or a bamboo or cork floor all create a very inviting and hip feel, that buyer’s like.  If you’re lucky enough to have a built in booth with benches and a floating table, take advantage of that and paint it to be a visual anchor with a dark base color and a nice shiny shellac coating on the wood table.  Most buyers who are looking seriously at purchasing a home realize that they’ll be spending tons of time here, entertaining friends and family, so if there is one room in the house that deserves a little extra attention before listing your home, I’d have to say I’d pick the kitchen.  I sold this home years ago when my clients had a growing family and really needed “more room” before baby number two arrived.  It sold promptly, in part due to their attention to detail here, and throughout the home.  For more information about what I recommend if you’re thinking of selling your home, visit my weekly blog at “www.liztalley.com” and you can catch up on my ideas that make selling a home a snap.  Most of my listings are selling in about 9 days, often to great buyers who appreciate everything the sellers did to make their home market ready.
